Hoode, born and raised in Philadelphia, has been tattooing for over 30 years in and around the Philadelphia area, and in Western Massachusetts.

A master of his craft, Hoode has an incredible artistic diversity he has perfected over the last few decades.

Known for his pioneering role in popularizing blackout work in the United States, today his work is almost exclusively focused on heavy blackouts and bold blackwork, a style that has made him internationally recognized and highly sought after.
Hoode opened Black Vulture Gallery in 2010, a shop that has become a destination for clients traveling from across the globe to collect work from their diverse group of artists.
Having completed well over a thousand blackout tattoos, he is admired for his technical precision, flawless saturation, and ability to transform old or unwanted tattoos into striking new canvases.
His clients often describe the process as both intense and transformative, offering not just a new aesthetic but a sense of evolution and renewal. Hoode’s mastery of the medium has earned him deep respect, with both peers and clients praising his ability to push boundaries while maintaining the highest standard of craftsmanship.
